Why I don't think we have choice.
Somehow everything in my life has already happened. I only see it happening one step at a time, in some sort of sequence. I have a memory as a 90+ year old, looking at the city, and see it burn. And I have tears in my eyes, and I can still feel the sadness. Except it hasn't happened yet.
And what is time really?
Why do some events feel so real as if it happened moments ago? And then I seem to know things that haven't happened yet. My dreams are filled with mixed up compilations of what once was, and clues of what is yet to be.
And what is the future really?
Have I already made all the decisions of my life, and now I'm merely living out the karma of past events? Can I really alter what happens in the outside world? Or am I just a participating bystander, just playing my role in the movie?
And what is law of attraction really?
Can I decide what I want for my future and allow that to come into my life? Or is it all already around me and it depends what I focus on, whether I see it or not. But it doesn't mean it isn't there. Every evil turn, every bright light, it's all there.
And what if I only see what I want to see?
It seems the only choice we really have is the meaning we give things and events. Life can seem so hard and full of despair, if you only see the darkness within us all. The rejection, the denial, the self interest.
And what if we don't have choice?
Well, what of it? You don't have a choice. Life will happen, people will kill, animals will die, plants will be destroyed, and plans derailed. Even by love ones. Our greatest critics are not the enemy, they are the ones sitting right next to you at the family table.
And what if you don't show up?
Avoidance. Sweet measure of time. We are so preoccupied with our own entitlement and needs, and we don't think there's an alternative but to punish those against us. Life goes on without us, we are but a spec in the greater scheme of things, and I wonder how much I really matter? My fears and feelings, just another perspective.
And what if there is another way?
What if the holidays don't have to be so sad? What if we can look to a new future, every day, not just the end of the year, and believe that what we do does not really matter. That who we are are not our things, our family, our friends, our pets, our habits, our interests, our passions.
And what if we are just spectators of what already is?
Maybe there is such a thing of evolving of the species. I have seen a change in focus in my lifetime. People talking about new things. But it all depends on who you talk to. So many now believe the environment to be the top problem to solve, yet so many still believe its a hoax.
And what if all of this isn't real?
Some sad experiment by the gods. Or one big cosmic joke. The really sad thing is, once we're done with war, with the killing, not just of the animals, forests, but also ourselves. What then? What would we do and how would we be?
What if we share everything and no one needs to steal, would greed end?
What if everyone is fed with what is good for them, would we still crave what's bad?
What if there's no more additive substances, would we be bored with life?
What if there's no technology to connect us, will we go back to fighting each other?
What if there's no religion tearing us apart and creating imaginary lines between us, would we then start to love unconditionally?
And what if we are not capable of peace?
Is that why the world needs to end? Is that why it will be destroyed in a ball of fire, and natural disasters? Have we outlived our welcome on this planet? And are we just spectators of a predetermined destiny? A brutal ending to a cruel humanity.
And what if it all starts again?
Just on the border of your waking mind, there lies another time where darkness and light are one. And as you tread the halls of sanity, you feel so glad to be unable to go beyond. I have a message from another time. - ELO

Leftovers
Yesterday a friend and I went to a Chinese food court for a quick lunch. I ordered a safe dish: Chicken pad thai noodles; one of my personal favourites if I'm not in the mood to make bold food decisions.
So here I go, getting my portion of noodles fit for an army. Well, a small army. And probably just enough for a regular person, but for me it was 4 times what I really needed. A lesson my mother taught me was to never put food on your plate that you are not willing to eat. That sounds obvious, but when you get your food in a restaurant or take out, you pretty much stuck with someone elses interpreation of a portion size.
The dish was vinegary but still edible, and if I had to rate it out of 10 (10 being the best I ever had), it probably scored about a 6. And yet after eating less than half, I felt compelled to take a doggy bag of all the left overs.
Why would I do that? Holding on to an experience that wasn't that great in the first place, and yet finding a way to repeat it. Why is it so hard to just push the plate aside and reject the rest of the food, a plate that someone else dished for me?
How much left overs are you carrying with you of an experience that wasn't that great, and you have no intension to go back for more, yet you carry the left over bag with you for what ever reason, holding on to that feeling of not being satisfied?
In the end the doggy bag ended in the garbage anyway, where it belonged in the first place. So next time you have an experience that is not that great, remember to leave the rest of it where you found it. There is no need to carry leftovers from the past into your present.
Each experience is to be enjoyed, and some emotions are going to feel good, and some are going to feel bad. And when it is over, it is over. Don't pack the leftovers.

Financial Freedom
How much is enough? How much money do you really need to feel financially secure?
Human nature is to just raise the bar every time you achieve your current goal. If we have to grow to feel significant, we will never grow enough.
Start rich, and then get financially free as well. Plenty of money will not make you happy. Wealth comes from a life of gratitude, and from contribution to others.
Can you be an honest person, but not be honest in the moment?
Secret to Financial Independence
1. Spend less than you earn
2. Reinvest your returns
3. Reach your critical mass
People cannot tell you how to do the following:
You need a money machine, something that will generate you money while you are sleeping. To help feed you without having to spend time on it.
Income is what makes you wealthy, not assets. Assets you can buy and it fluctuate in value, but it is not an income, it is an acquisition.
"I'm building a money machine, and its purpose is to provide me with income without working."
Pick a specific % of your income to invest, and pay the investments first before doing anything else.
Success in life comes from good judgement and good decisions.
Good judgement comes from experience.
Experience is coming from bad decisions.
80% of wealth is psychology
20% is experience
The mistake is Asset Allocation
Out of the money you want to invest you will create 3 buckets
Pick your % for each bucket and don't vary based on opportunities
1. Security - Fixed Income investments - low risk (bonds)
- 2-6 months of cash to cover your living
- Insurance
- Home
2. Growth - Greater return/loss, greater risk
- Buy and Hold
- Financial trader (time for money/money for money)
3. Dream bucket
- Travel
- Assets
- Break your pattern, change your location
If you do the right thing in at the wrong time, you get pain.
If you plant your seeds in winter, no matter how hard you work, you will not reap the benefits.
The more successful you get, the more people want to be with you / do things for you

What the Bleep do you know!
Ever watch the movie, "What the bleep do we know?"
Here are some thoughts extracted from it:
"If you cannot control your emotions, you are probably addicted to it!"
"It is not just psychological, but also bio-chemical"
"Ageing is result of improper protein production"
"What chemical addiction do you have?"
You are not good or bad, you are part of god
"There are things that will evolve you, and some that won't"
"Who is the ultimate observer?"
"The only real experiences is when you loose time and space"
"Creators of the universe"
"Quantum Physics is the science of possibility"
"Life without addictions"
"You are the scientist of your own life"
"It is not to live in the know, it is to live in the mystery"
