Human Behaviour

According to "Managing Maintenance Errors" by James Reason, Alan Hobbs, human performance is done on these different levels.

Nice reminders on what moods/emotions are stable and what aren't:

Six Marketing Steps

You would wonder why I'm reading marketing books. Well, looking for a job means selling your abilities and skills to a company.

Inspired by "How to become a Marketing Superstar" by Jeffrey Fox

Six Steps
  1. Determine competition
  2. State your benefit (why should customer do business with you)
  3. Quantify the benefit
  4. Dollarize the benefit (talk about loosing money, not saving money)
  5. Express total dollarized benefit in 'per unit') terms
  6. Demonstrate the true total cost of your competitor's product

Surviving Information Overload

This is some advise taken from the book "Information Overload" by David Lewis

  1. Know only what you need to know (relevant?, reliable?, hard to obtain?, purpose?)
  2. Spend time browsing
  3. Build your metaknowleedge (where to find things - use reader to sort feeds/links)
  4. Use fast, effective search engines
  5. Don't panic, think rationally
  6. Rationalize and Control communications

Dear Diary, this is what I dream...

Sleeping (room) is in a retail store.  I get up early to read something in the news paper.  Room next door is Yvo's parents.  Yvo gets up to look at program on TV, something to do with her work.  When I'm done I'm going back to our room to get ready, but now in retail store and shoppers are already there.

Yvo follows me and ask me to wait for her.  I know more or less where the room is, but can't find it.  Yvo says 'it's down here' and I follow her, but we still can't find the room.

There is this one shop I keep on visiting, and the owner waits at the door and I rush out because I think it is closing time, but other workers are still inside and the owner shake her head disbelieving as to why I thought she's closing.

We share a table with many people.  I make a wise crack and everyone laugh but the shop owner misunderstood.  Both her and the person I make wise crack to is difference race.  I meant as a compliment and she thought it was derogative.  I don't help her right.  (something about wearing nice shoes so I thought he must have lots of money, but I made comment about something else).
